David C. Gearing is a partner at Gearing, Rackner, Engel & McGrath, LLP. He has provided clients with valuable counsel for more than twenty years in all areas of family law. His experience includes financial litigation involving closely held businesses and real estate holdings and complex custody issues.

Mr. Gearing was born in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his B.A. cum laude in 1980 from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his J.D. in 1983 from the University of Oregon.

He is admitted to practice in Oregon and is a member of the Clackamas County, Multnomah County, Clatsop County and Washington County Bar Associations; the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practictioners; and the Oregon State Bar - Family Law Section.

Martindale-Hubbell has given Mr. Gearing an AV rating, the highest awarded for professional ability and ethics. He is also co-author of the Oregon State Bar Family Law Book chapter on custody and parenting time.
