John W. Whearty is a tax attorney licensed to practice in Oregon and Washington. Mr. Whearty limits his practice to tax and estate planning, business law and business transactions as well as the litigation from these areas of practice.

Mr. Whearty received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Portland State University, a Master of Business Administration Degree from Washington State University, and both his Juris Doctor Degree and Certificate in Federal Tax Law from the Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College. Mr. Whearty is a member of both the Oregon and Washington State Bars, United States District Court for the Districts of Oregon and Western Washington, and is admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court.

Mr. Whearty is a partner in MacLaren & Whearty, LLP, serves on the Board of Directors of various profit and non-profit entities, and is past President of the N.E. Portland Rotary Club of Rotary International. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
